The Silver Ceiling: working in your 60s & beyond

January 24, 2012

As the first wave of baby boomers turn 65 this year, many are turning their thoughts to retirement.

But with the high cost of living in many provinces and the economic downturn, is leaving the workforce a feasible option?

CBC is hosting a live chat today with the founder and CEO of Age-Friendly Business, but we want to know what our Paladin Security staff think?

Here's one comment to CBC so far:

"I'm 67, I love working and have no intention of retiring. How boring a life is without something meaningful to do and I don't mean sitting all day staring at the ocean south of the border. All that stuff retired people are supposed to want to do is nonsense. What we mostly want is a meaningful life no matter what age we are. Betty White should inspire more to stay active until the very end, whenever that might be. Retire and you'll end up retired from life itself."

Email your thoughts to your Paladin Employee Care Coordinator and we'll continue the discussion in next month's edition of The Paladin Pipeline!
